After posting a picture, taken during dinner with friends on our anniversary, on FB, I received a lot of beautiful comments but the best was someone calling us a "picturesque couple"... it made my day :)
This morning I woke up to glorious, beautiful and plentiful rain. It just pours and pours and washes away the Monday morning blues...not that I had any in the first place. I'm just so happy for mother earth's natural cleanser. It truly is picturesque outside...

Raining tears for MJ? ... maybe
The day didn't start so well for Chrys, but I am enjoying the rain. I don't need to step out today, so I can just sit by our large french windows with a steaming cup of tea and watch the raindrops pitter-patter on the railings. Occasionally a crow or a pigeon soaked to it's bones would give me company and then fly off. Today it's pouring... so much that I think most parts of Mumbai may be flooded. Even then people wouldn't skip work, they'll swim to their destination if need be. It's not about the spirit of Mumbai and all that... it's just force of habit. Mumbaiites don't find their mornings complete unless they have travelled in cramped trains, with wet umbrellas being poked into their eyes. Cheap thrills I say.
Speaking of thrills, the world's very own Thriller is dead. I woke up to this grim news. Now, I'm not too interested in the strange life of Michael Jackson, but I really enjoyed his music. I hope he is finally at peace.

Feel it on my finger tips, hear it on my window pane
The rains are finally here, but the met department does not seem to think so. Whatever they may say, the people of Mumbai are extremely happy. This was apparent on Sunday when Chrys and I decided to go down to Pizzaria at Marine Drive. We wanted to drive down on the bike, but seeing the light shower we decided against it. At first we had a clear view of the sea from Pizzaria (Next to 'Not just Jazz by the Bay'). Gradually the crowds started increasing. We then decided to take a walk along the drive. It turned out to be more of a pushing and jostling session 'coz like us, thousands of others had decided on a walk at just the same time. Even then it was a beautiful evening with the strong breeze from the sea and the overcast sky letting the sun peep out once in a while.
We met one of Chrys' friends, a young man, who had come out to take a jog. But he complained that he couldn't go five paces without bumping into someone. We estimated that there must have been around 15-20 thousand people along Marine Drive that day.
This morning while I was at a doctor's clinic, the receptionist commented that it was raining outside. The maid who was scrubbing the floor, looked out of the window and commented... 'Hey kai paus ahe? Paus mhanje dho dho padayche'... meaning Unless it rains cats and dogs, it ain't raining!
